Lots of Work


That was one of the weirder things I’ve ever experienced. Alex thought more to himself than Neya as his presence wavered, unsettled by the fresh memory that she had shared with him. That wasn’t something he had ever expected to see... but it was nice to see he was still in good shape despite not having done any exercise in a few months.

“Okay. I did not think that through.” Alex managed to get that out through gritted teeth, tears standing in his eyes. He had curled up into a tight ball on the bed, hands cupped protectively over his groin.

Drift


Sleep came easily to Carbon. After Alex had taken enough of his clothes off, she taught him the words to work the lights, nestled down next to him and was wheezing softly minutes later. He found himself envious of her ability to do that, tired but still working over the day in his mind.

Must Be Aliens


“I had thought that she would go her room. It seemed pretty reasonable.” Alex plucked his shirt off the ground and slipped it back on, suddenly feeling uncomfortably naked despite - or because of - Neya and Carbon’s various levels of undress. He righted the chair he had knocked over and sat down carefully, barely fitting into the seat. “I mean, where did she go last night? You didn’t just kick her out to wander the ship?”
